Our world class covered arena is ideal for riding and also available for rent and is capable of hosting a range of competitive events including rodeo, horse shows, and team roping events. Bleachers can accommodate approximately 1000 spectators.

Amenities: competition style night-time lighting, covered grand stands capable of seating 800, concessions, overnight stalls, an onsite feed store, and an adjacent warm-up arena.
Our outdoor riding arena can be used for all types of horse show events, rodeo events, barrel racing and specialty events. A custom-built announcer’s stand is on the South side and there is enough bleacher seating for 300 spectators. There are also two grassy picnic areas on the West side of the arena.

Hunter Jumper Arena
Our hunter jumper arena provides a perfect environment for equestrian practice and events. With a beautiful view of the San Tan Mountains, the arena can be configured to satisfy any jumping pattern.
Sturdy and well-manicured round pens are available to provide a safe and secure environment for horse training.

Our new outdoor arena is a professional equestrian events arena featuring covered seating stands for up to 200 people as well as covered waiting areas for contestants, judging booth, photographer’s stand and full announcer stand complete with a PA system. This arena can be prepared for all ranges of equestrian events such as team roping, hunter/jumper events, western style horse shows, barrel races and anything in between.

Horse Boarding at The John Volken Academy Ranch
Approximately 60 indoor stalls and 60 mare motel type pens available for year round boarding. Boarding fee includes 20lbs of feed per day consisting of either alfalfa, Bermudagrass, or pellets of your choice. We clean each pen/stall 6 days a week and add bedding as needed. In addition to the use of the round pens and arenas, your horse is turned out in our front pastures 3x a week for an hour on average each time.
