The Therapeutic Community Success
The John Volken Academy Ranch utilizes a therapeutic community approach to addiction recovery program Phoenix Arizona. Participants graduate with skills to ensure a successful future and maintain long-term sobriety.
A therapeutic community approach to addiction treatment program Phoenix Arizona provides an individual recovery setting that is:
- powerful treatment.
- highly structured and
- group-based
It goes much further than simply helping individuals to stop using drugs and alcohol. It also provides an environment where individuals can learn why they used and develop all the tools necessary to stay sober.
At a therapeutic community, individuals assume responsibility, not only for their own recovery but also the recovery of their peers. They are taught to become leaders within the community and over time are given increased amounts of responsibility. This, in turn, reinforces their own recovery.
Achieve Personal Growth
Personal growth is achieved by peers serving as role models providing support through interaction and confronting each other in group sessions. These group sessions allow participants to understand the root cause of their addiction and begin to resolve their past.
Addiction Recovery
Continued sobriety requires the ability to maintain meaningful employment. Here, residential addiction treatment program Phoenix Arizona participants are provided opportunities to receive the necessary training to become valuable employees.
Vocational development of our inpatient addiction treatment participants prepare students to become valuable employees and managers. They also simultaneously help fund and maintain the operations of the John Volken Academy Ranch.
Students receive extensive job and career training in real-life settings in a variety of enterprises. They strive for excellence in their performance, building and taking pride in their accomplishments. They develop their talents into marketable job, interpersonal, management, and leadership skills.
Ultimately, they learn to problem-solve, “stick to it,” follow directions, cooperate with others, and deal with the public.
Participants at the John Volken Academy Ranch run the boarding facility and equestrian center, maintain the garden, manage the ranch store, and attend educational classes. All aspects of care and maintenance of the facility are under the stewardship of the participants.
Once settled at the ranch in Phoenix, Arizona, students spend approximately three hours per day, Monday through Friday, on advanced studies. Many students who used to struggle in school are now excelling in their education. In their pursuit of excellence, they are pushing themselves academically and developing strength in areas they never imagined possible.
Upon graduation, participants have employment, housing, and life skills for successful long-term sobriety.
